Because You’re Not Who They Think You Are

Here are some occupations for which I’ve held preconceived notions. And I know I’m not alone.

- Financial advisors (they’re sometimes thought to be self-serving financial product pushers, though mine’s preparing me to drink mojitos at my beach house before I’m 55)

- Work-at-home-moms (they might wear pajamas all day, but they’re not slacking off)

- Airline pilots (I always thought they led glamorous lives until I got to know one)

You may not be able to change people’s preconceived ideas of what you do or don’t do, but you can debunk common misconceptions before they meet you face-to-face or visit your website.

By writing articles that give your readers credible information that’s immediately relevant, your audience will start to recognize you for who you are instead of who they think you are.
